An independent case review report has been published today into the death of three-year-old Jonnie Meek.
Jonnie had the rare genetic condition De Grouchy Syndrome and had to be fed through a tube in his stomach. He died on 11 August 2014 during a planned admission to the former Stafford Hospital, which was part of the former Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust. He had been admitted to introduce a new milk formula in his feed.
The report, by Dr Martin Farrier, a consultant paediatrician at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust, was commissioned by Cannock Chase Clinical Commissioning Group in an attempt to provide a resolution to a number of questions raised by Jonnie’s family, who live in Cannock.
Mansion House Surgery in Stone is encouraging high-risk patients to stay well this winter by getting the flu jab. They are even holding a special children's clinic over the half term break on 27 October from 9am until 12pm.
Most of their other flu clinics are filling up so they have added a new session on Saturday 31 October 2015 from 8am until 12.45pm. The practice will also be putting more clinics on as demand comes in, particularly in that half term week.
Patients who would like to have the flu vaccine to help them stay well this winter are asked to contact the practice to book in on one of the sessions on 01785 815555.
