Childhood cold or flu – do you know the difference?

It’s the time of year when colds and flu are doing the rounds in schools and nurseries across Stafford and its surrounding areas.

But as a parent how do you tell the difference? Symptoms of a cold include a runny or blocked nose, sore throat, sneezing and a cough. Flu includes sudden fever, muscle aches, sweating, feeling exhausted and a dry or chesty cough. Although both illnesses share some of the same symptoms they are caused by different viruses.

Staffordshire CCGs to seek new guidance before deciding on hearing loss service changes

Staffordshire health commissioners are to await the report of the Hearing Loss Commissioning Guidance Advisory Group which is due to be published before making any changes to hearing loss services across the south and east of the region.

The Clinical Commissioning Groups of South East Staffordshire and Seisdon Peninsula, Cannock Chase, East Staffordshire and Stafford and Surrounds made the decision after the recent Audiology Inquiry Day on 25 November 2015 which was led by the Staffordshire Select Committee.
