Dr Robertson started his medical career as a junior doctor at North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary, before training posts elsewhere in the Midlands, and in the North East. He was a consultant physician at Sandwell General Hospital, and heavily involved in developing diabetes services in that area since 1995 and was the public health lead for that Trust, an integrated acute and community service provider. He has held several senior clinical management posts, and is now Associate Medical Director for Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
He's lived in Staffordshire for 20 years, and became Secondary Care Board member for North Staffordshire CCG in 2013. He's now extended to the same role for Stafford and Surrounds, South East Staffordshire and Seisdon Peninsula and Cannock Chase CCGs. He brings clinical experience in long term conditions, management of hospitals and community services, a deep interest in public health and a determination that the CCGs commission services which best improve the health of their populations in Staffordshire.
