GPs are at the heart of clinical decision making within Stafford and Surrounds Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). GPs bring both clinical expertise and local knowledge of patient need and it is therefore essential that they lead the healthcare decisions being made for the local population.
GPs are also the gatekeeper for the majority of local health services and therefore have a key role to play in helping to manage the resources allocated to CCGs.
All 14 GP practices across Stafford and its surrounding area are represented on our Membership Board. The Membership Board is the forum where all clinical discussions are held and decisions made.
The Membership Board meets monthly to enable all of the practices to be engaged in the work of the CCG and to provide the clinical leadership that is a key component of clinical commissioning.
