I'm a CIMA qualified accountant with ten years post qualified work experience. I've worked in a variety of sectors and organisations during my career but have spent the last eight years undertaking finance and contracting roles within NHS commissioning organisations. My career began in Industry working within the IT sector for Cap Gemini (FTSE 100). The position I held was Assistant Management Accountant, it was during this period I began studying for my CIMA exams. Once I became part qualified I moved into the construction sector where I worked for Lyndon Scaffolding (£30m turnover business) as a Management Accountant. I finished my CIMA qualifications part way through the four years I spent at Lyndon Scaffolding and following a restructure of the finance department I was promoted to Financial Controller. I then moved into the food sector and worked as a Finance Manager at Compass (FTSE 100) within the Healthcare division. After two years at Compass I made the transition into the NHS by taking the role of Acute Finance Manager within a Commissioning organisation.
I was appointed as Deputy Director of Finance at South East Staffordshire & Seisdon Peninsula CCG in June 2015. The three CCGs amalgamating under one management team meant that I took on the role of Deputy Director of Finance across Stafford & Surrounds and Cannock Chase CCGs in January 2016. My focus during this time has been to restructure the finance team to deliver a first class business focussed service. The team I’ve built has been hugely successful and has enabled me to step up on an interim basis into the Role of Director of Finance.
